Stop Clutter Before it Comes in the Home

What happens when you love to shop BUT hate to organize?  Or don’t have the time or the energy to deal with what you buy?

All those “great deals” becomes clutter when we bring it into the home and don’t have a place to put it right away or purge something else to make room for it.  What happens most of the time the items stay hidden in a bag we let it pile up and up!   Then there is t a problem.

Too much stuff, with no place to put it, leads to clutter and chaos which does not allow a stress free organized home we desire.

Before you buy something, ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do I have a place for it?
  2. Do I love it?
  3. Am I willing to toss something to make room for this item?
  4. Will I really use this item and if so will it be within the next 2 months?

Remember even if a deal is too good to pass up but you don’t need it, you still need to put it somewhere.

Also the floor does not count unless its furniture, so no bags piled up on the floor.

Asking yourself the above questions you’ll learn over time that the best way to stop clutter is before it even enters your home.

 POST TITLE
December 19, 2024
Post Holiday Checklist: Update your holiday card list and address book from cards received If you haven’t photographed your decorated spaces and taped the pictures to the front of your storage containers, do so before you pack things up. Each of my holiday décor storage tubs contains the items needed to create the scene that is taped to the box. It’s so simple and cuts down on the amount of decisions I need to contemplate. After all, it’s actually the millions of holiday decisions that wipe us out. Take those photos and give your brain a break next year. Throw away/ Recycle: Lights that don’t work Broken ornaments Excess left over holiday cards you sent Holiday books you don’t read Donate: Gifts that you don’t want Holiday décor that did not get put up Excess wrapping paper that you won’t use
